branches and Fog

Hello good people. This is a second installment of This shoot I posted Tuesday last week. This time the experiment was with fog/smoke and twigs. Well… not everything worked as I had envisioned but I did learn alot from it.

The idea was to create fine art photography to be printed on canvas etc.

From here on I will be illustrating most of the posts so if you love cartoons thats more reason to be checking out my posts

Untitd-1

I borrowed a panga from a shamba boy close by and raided surrounding trees for twigs ferrying them into the house. I could see the shamba boy struggling trying to get a hold of what was happening and probably even tempted to call Nyumba kumi initiative and report suspicious activity. I could guess what was going through his head.. does this guy keep elephants as indoor pet?, Is he a herbalist?, has he lost it?,is he into sadistic rituals?

This is one of the images I did.

Splash experiement

One Sunday morning I teamed up with two of my model-looking friends and decided to do an experiment with water. I have had this idea for quite sometime and lately commercial photography has been on my mind.

The first idea was to do an image that would sell an aqua fragrance. We got our model all wet and splashed her with water bila mchezo. Within a few takes we got the right image. The second concept (to be blogged later) involved “smoke” and twigs (we left a couple of trees branchless). All this happened in a house which was left in such a mess that I was tempted to call a cleaning services company.

After the shoot, I the master chef *clears throat and adjusts collar* got into the kitchen and made some “Gourmet” sandwiches which were vanishing faster than I could make them.

The model here is called Phyline my long time Guinea pig. She has amazing modeling capabilities but until after this shoot she hadn’t considered it. Just a few days ago she rounded up the experiemental shoots we had done overtime and attended an audition.

Despite her Mischief (of switching from warm water to cold without warning the model) Special thanks to Purity, who`se hand makes a cameo appearance on the behind the scenes images. She did all the work of splashing the model with water and managing the smoke in the yet to be blogged image.
