Lulu Diva is one of the leading female artist in Tanzania, also known as bongo. We did a quick studio shoot to market her image and also images for press and social media. Check out links to her latest work at the bottom of the post. Today also marks the day when I return to regular blogging. I shall be doing at least three post a month so stay tuned.
Chikune is an Afro-jazz musician from Namibia. She recently got crowned the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa at the Afrima awards. I did a bit back and forth with her manager/producer and settled on the kind of image to give her. I shot and directed the shoot as usual,in the in studio and on location..
The only challenge I encountered was a major collision between swahili and her mother tongue.. an innocent and very commonly used swahili word “nini” is super vulgar in her language. We kept busting into laughter each time any of the crew used the word, the stylist and MUA and assistant.. the photo where she is holding the flower and laughing hysterically i used the word nini as i was directing the pose.
We did a lot of photos here are few of them.
There aren’t many creative Real Estate photographers in Kenya since the industry hasn’t fully grasped the importance of edgy photography to market the properties. There are a small number though, that value that, like PDM Kenya an affiliate of the Agha khan foundation. They hired me to shoot a couple of their buildings. I shot very many images but will only share a few
Willy Paul and Size 8 reborn contacted me to do promo images for their latest collabo titled Tiga Wana.. which went on to become a hit. It was a quick shoot as They were running on a tight schedule so i had to device ways to get usable images within a super short time.. I didn’t have time to do editing either so I just did quick minor fixes.
Despite musicians posing with Microphones being quite clitche’ I figured a way to make it work.. we got some nice images i think.
